One-on-One Coaching

WHAT IS COACHING?

Coaching is a powerful, ongoing partnership that maximizes human potential. A Professional Coach helps you identify your defining values, connect to your purpose, focus your goals, and build a plan for your own development. As an objective and skillful collaborator, a coach allies with you to capture learning and redirect it towards creating sustainable change.

MY APPROACH

It is an honor to coach someone. I maintain that every human being is already whole — which means, “you aren’t broken so I won’t try and fix you!” My clients, often, are individuals who are in transition of some kind – work, relationship, and life status transitions in particular. I work with each client to clarify what’s most important to them, identify their needs and values in life, and articulate a vision they feel passionate about.

Then, we work through internal blockages to help them take action steps towards that vision. I hold them accountable for what they say they want, so my role is supportive, sometimes challenging, and always honest.

“Each week when I show up for the call, I never know exactly where we are going, but the process never ceases to amaze me.  With her deep insights, enthusiasm, and encouragement, Mary leads us on a journey to a new awakening and something shifts in me each week.  I hang up after each session with a deeper sense of self and a game plan for  taking actions that will lead me closer to my goals and who I most want to be.”  ~Erica, Philadelphia

COMMON REASONS TO HIRE A COACH

  • To create a life based on what matters most to you
  • To shift to more meaningful work or experience current work more meaningfully
  • To ease transition and get the most out of important periods in your life (ie. during a pregnancy, during a wedding-planning year, moving towards retirement, moving out of a relationship, after the death of a loved one)
  • To become more organized, productive, efficient, healthier, happier, and to improve your relationships
  • To re-ignite lost passions or re-prioritize creative endeavors

“Mary’s support, guidance, and innovative ideas have provided invaluable insight that have led to changing my perspective and approach to life to one that is closer to living my values and articulating and seeking to achieve the goals that are of importance to me.”  ~Stephen, San Francisco

A TYPICAL SESSION

totally confidential coaching session with me is, generally, 45 minutes long and it happens on the phone. Once we have defined specific and observable desired outcomes in an intake session, the client sets the agenda for each coaching call and we go from there.

HOW IT WORKS LOGISTICALLY

Enduring change of any kind requires a commitment. To this end, all clients start with a 3-month Package that begins with an intake session. During the intake session, we develop the necessary guidelines for a most effective coaching relationship and a powerful vision for where we are going with coaching. The 90-day minimum gives us an opportunity to work intensely on the most important goals and make some first big strides. After 3 months, most clients continue, and at that time, I also offer the option to purchase single sessions, at $85 apiece.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

“I could spend 2 years with What Color is Your Parachute? and not accomplish what we just did in 10 minutes!” ~Elena, Los Angeles

“My work with Mary has been such a joy on so many levels. Her raw confidence in my ability to tackle my goals is a beautiful thing.  I’m amazed at how much we have gotten into the nitty-gritty of my fears on a 45 minute phone call. The bodywork was refreshing and really got me out of my head.  I feel so blessed to have had this experience.” ~Dina, Brooklyn

Mary encouraged me to perform a simple ritual that helped me to let go of painful stories I had been telling myself about a past relationship. It was a transformational experience for me, and one that brought a feeling of pure, physical release! With Mary’s help, I also re-connected with nature and it’s important role in my self-healing process.  ~Rebecca, Brooklyn

“One result of working with Mary is that I no longer find myself thinking, “I can’t” on a regular basis. I’ve discovered, much to my surprise, that I am a closet optimist, and Mary has lovingly pushed me out of the closet.” ~Jennifer, Long Island

“It’s been amazing to work with you this year. I’ve made so many key decisions in our sessions.” ~Jane, Queens

“I knew this was something very different. I couldn’t believe she was going to ask me every single week which commitments I stuck with and which ones I hadn’t. It really made a difference to me and I can’t believe how much we accomplished. I still see progress towards my goals as a result of Mary’s coaching.” ~Nancy, Illinois
