That Shapes The Eye, by Hafiz
Children
Can easily open the
Drawer
That lets the spirit rise up and wear
Its favorite costume of
Mirth and laughter
When the mind is consumed with
Rememberance
Something divine happens to the
Heart
That
Shapes the hand and tongue
And eye into
The word
Love

Beautiful sweater on a cute little guy! Did you knit it?
so funny you should ask. No, I didn’t knit it. (don’t knit…) but I just found it in a box I had labeled “save, family heirlooms.” Rob’s stepdad (Sal) — his mom was a masterful knitter and a great lady. She knit full layettes and other sweaters and things for great-grandchildren she knew she would never live to see. They all ended up in a box at Rob’s mom’s house, unclaimed. Sadly, that homemade look is not beloved to all…but it is to me. So I snatched up some cute hand knits of “Grandma Diana” and they are finally starting to fit Orlis. ; ()
Beautiful! Love the poem (and the sweater)! And the kid, too.
